Help give Ronnie Coaches of Buk Bak a befitting burial - Bright appeals

Prince Bright (Bling Sparkles) of Buk Bak has made a passionate appeal to Ghanaians to come in their numbers to support the burial of his best friend music partner, Ronnie Coaches.

Ronnie, 36, died on November 21, 2013 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after suffering a heart attack.

The mortal remains of the musician, also known in real life as Ronnie Nii Quarshikumah Quainoo, will be laid to rest on Saturday, February 1, 2014.

Bright, who was in the same group - Buk Bak - with Ronnie since the 1990s, touched down in Ghana from the US last Saturday, said the little Ghanaians can do for the late musician is to turn out in their numbers for the funeral.

The burial of the late musician will be preceded by a Wake Keeping at the National Theatre on January 31.

The body will be laid in state at the National Theatre on February 1.

The remains of the late musician will be interred at the Osu Cemetery on February 1, followed a memorial service at the Success Chapel, Bubuashie in Accra on Sunday, February 2. Bright told Myjoyonline.com in an interview that, "Ronnie is for all and he was part of the music community in Ghana.

So I believe that everybody that has love for Buk Bak and wants to support Ronnie has every right to be there. This is in support of a brother who contributed so much to the music industry in Ghana."

"What more is better than showing up and showing love to support his family in this time of grief so I am expecting to see everybody who is a musician or who is in the industry and supports good music, Ronnie is a part of us and if he is no more, the least we can do is to show our last respects to him," he added.

Bright urged "all my brothers and sisters in the industry, and the general public as well, to come and support the funeral service for Ronnie so we place him in the hands of the Almighty God."

The National Theatre will also host a special musical concert in honour of Ronnie Coaches on February 1.

The concert will see performances from several artistes including Prince Bright (Bling Sparkles) and music trio, 4x4.

Bright, however, did  not give further details of the artistes who will be performing at the concert except to say, lovers of Ronnie will mount the stage on the day.

Shortly after Ronnie's death, reports emerged that he had a number of children with some women.

Answering a question on what should be done towards the upkeep of the kids, Bright said Ghanaians should come to their aid.

"We should leave that in the hands of God... hopefully these children will have the proper support from the family, from the community we live in, Ghana in general," he said and urged benevolent organisations to support the family.

"Ronnie was a very generous person, he was a loving, kind person.

Ronnie was all about unity...he loved his family. We created magic together.

If you have any remours against anybody, please make peace with each other," he stated.
