PN Iridescent.com had a one-on-one interview with him. Sarfo Boateng began creating cartoons in the third year in the university. He was inspired by David Malan, a professional artist and illustrator. His artwork looked interesting to him and therefore did some research about it.
The struggles that Sarboat initially faced in his field of endeavour was not having an art background. He was a business student. He didnt know the basics and principles of art at the time.He learnt digital painting on his own and through a friend. Furthermore, he applied the knowledge that he learnt from Designing and Illustration to digital painting.
He has worked for number of celebrities such as Kwaw Kese, D-Black, Lighter, Mugeez and Benny Blanco. He recently did an official artwork cover of the long-awaited single ‘Yakubu’ by Kwaw Kese ft. Sarkodie.
Asking him what his plans are, he answered by saying that he is planning to build a studio and work with celebrities. Also upon asking him what makes him different than other digital artists, he said that his style is different and that he adds what he feels about the person he is drawing. Furthermore, people have started appreciating what he doing and many have encouraged him continue with it.
It is frustrating when someone steals an artwork of yours and claims it’s his/hers. According to him, some people have used a couple of his artwork for events without asking permission. Asking him how he felt about it, he said that he feels happy that people recognize his work but stealing them is not the right thing to do.

ALLIANCE FRANCAISE: Matieres Grises Exhibition - Recycling Materials For Architecture
An architectural exhibition titled “Matière Grise: Material, Recycling, Architecture”, which aims at transforming main cities into “Zero Waste Metropolis” with the use of recycled materials in building will be held at the exhibition hall of Alliance Francaise Accra from Thursday 25th June 2015 to 26th July from 9am to 9pm.
There will be a Panel discussion facilitated by Nat Amarteifio, former Mayor of Accra on 25th June at 6:30pm. A cocktail and launch of the exhibition follow at 8pm.
Taking into consideration the crisis of materials and ambition to transform main cities into “Zero Waste Metropolis”, the Architects of the agency ‘Encore Heureux’ in France explore the issue of re-using materials in this decisive era where architecture aspires to reinvent itself by adjusting to environmental and economic restrictions. This exhibition will have architects discussing projects that show the potential and the possibility of a new life for used materials.
Re-employment of building materials, according to the agency, would definitely be one of the tools for the transition toward a less “material consuming” architecture which economises raw materials. The title of the exhibition, “Matière Grise”, which means "Grey matter" has a double meaning, from singular to plural: consuming more grey matter to generate less grey matter. Using less “grey matter” leads to the use of less energy to extract, transform, carry and shape the material.
Architecture is embodied in multiple materials put together using techniques, know-hows and manpower. Industrial revolutions led to the massive use of natural resources (sand, fossil energies, minerals, wood, land, water ...) offering incredible possibilities to architects (structure steel, reinforced concrete, glass…). All these edifices shaped our cities and habitats. However, in a finite world, the natural resources available are limited and it has been predicted that some of these resources could disappear within a few decades if we maintain our current level of consumption. At the same time, the amount of material thrown away, incinerated or buried has never been so high. Mines are dry and waste disposal sites overflow.
More “grey matter” means more consciousness, simplicity, invention and creativity for a responsible use of the material. It is also about claiming a more local approach, more collective, more surprising where the architect recovers his capacity of action. The reuse of material would thus be a deliberate choice of simplicity applied to building design. If natural resources are limited, intellectual resources seem infinite.
This event is made possible thanks to Fondation Alliance Francaise, Pavillon de l’Arsenal and Encore Heureux, architectural practice.
This exhibition is free and open to the public.

Special review of 'Boo Boo' by Ghanaian Music Group Gallaxy
Harbour City Recordz signed Highlife and Afrobeat recording artiste Gallaxy has once again released a brand new song titled ‘Booboo’. This is their first ‘release’ in 2015 after enjoying massive public attention through airplay, gigs with their hit song ‘Bokoboko’ which actually shot them into them Ghanaian mainstream music industry.
The group is also known for other great songs like ‘Tweaa’,’Wodo Nti’,’Holla at me’,’ Yema me’ which video was premiered on 4syte Tv few days ago and now ‘Booboo’ produced by their label’s producer Shottoh Blinqx.
‘Booboo’ is an Afrobeat song that has the indigenous ‘Agbadza’ rhythm .Most of the instruments in the song sounds live even though they were electronically played. ‘Booboo’ is another great African song.
The Kwesi Dav has proved his versatility again with his great vocal delivery. He has done what is not so common. He is a vocalist who always wants to convey his message through rhyming.
Bra Chiky on the other hand did a lot on the song. The known rapper did the hook for the song. He is gradually showing his singing capability. Because on their previous song ‘Yema me’ he did the hook which has become part of the song that people loves.
Gallaxy has commercially being in the industry for the past four years and has played all the major stages including the prestigious 4syte Tv Music Video Awards.
Unlike the other Ghanaian music groups, Gallaxy has a brand that is easily identified and known for their highlife and Afrobeat songs.
‘Boo Boo’ is not just another song by the group but also proves the group is phenomenal and can ride on any meaningful beat on the other hand can just ride on something small and make it big.
The song is a love song which basically encourages a woman who is emotionally weak because of what people around keep saying about her partner. And the man on the other hand is encouraging the lady to forget about what ‘haters’ keeps saying about him not being his choice and kind of man for her.
Gallaxians thus Gallaxy’s fans must be very excited about this song. ’Booboo’ by Gallaxy will surely revive other people who has songs on similar rhythm.
Let me wrap up by congratulating the group for going beyond what they are known for to work on a new style .Music is another field that is very spiritual since you are expected to produce something that the fans has never heard before.
